How can I use WordLogic on my Tablet PC?

You can use WordLogic as your alternative 'soft keyboard' to enter text in any application, which also provides you with a number of powerful tools to enhance your typing experience: prediction of words and phrases, spell-checking, and quick web-based information search and retrieval.

Does WordLogic work with my handwriting recognition software?

No, it currently does not.

Does WordLogic support the external hardware keyboard?

Yes, it does. The Tablet PC version has the full functionality of the Desktop version.

How can I maximize my typing speed with WordLogic?

There is no straightforward answer to that, as each and every user is unique. Some of our users prefer to always keep track of the list of predictions, waiting for the word/phrase they want to appear and make the selection as soon as it is displayed in the Prediction List. This method can pay off significantly - for instance, you can type the phrase 'Please let me know if you have any questions' with only 7 taps!

For some, this approach takes a little bit of focus away. They keep tapping on the keyboard buttons, looking at the list of predictions only when they are stuck, or are absolutely sure they will see the prediction they want. Notice that when tapping on the keys of the soft keyboard, the buttons will be changing their colour. If the colour of the button turns red, this means that the prediction possibilities are narrowed down to the maximum, and the word (or phrase) you want should be displayed in the list of 5 predictions. This is when you can turn your attention to the Prediction List and make the selection.

Try and experiment with different methods and find which suits you best.

What is the difference between the software on the CD and the software on the USB drive?

The software is the same, but the CD version is designed to be installed and run on one Tablet. The USB drive contains a standalone version, which allows you to run WordLogic on any PC or Tablet without having to install it.

2. Prediction

When is the prediction reset?

Prediction is reset (that is, the program thinks you are about to start typing a completely new word or phrase) every time you enter a Tab, use the Return key, or switch between application windows. In the words-only version, the prediction also resets after each space.

3. Dictionary Management

Can I view or edit the contents of the WordLogic dictionaries?

At this moment, the user has no access to viewing/editing the contents of the default WordLogic dictionaries. You can add words and phrases that will be added to your Personal Dictionary, and you can remove these additions later (please refer to the manual for more information on how to do it).
We are planning to implement the view/edit dictionary feature in the near future.

Can I use WordLogic to store and predict paragraphs?

You can use WordLogic to store and retrieve several lines of text. A good example would be one's postal address, e.g.

Baron Munchausen
1234 Lunar Road
Oceanus Procellarum
Z1X 2C3
Planet Moon

To store this address, type and then select (highlight) it in the application you are currently working sliding the stylus along. Hold the stylus pressed on the selection until you see a mouse icon; then select 'Copy' from the menu that appears. Alternatively, you can tap CTRL and C on the soft keyboard.
Once the selection is stored in the clipboard, tap on the Phrase (Ph) button within the WordLogic window. You will get the Add Word(s) from clipboard prompt. Tap on Yes to add the address to your Personal Dictionary.
Note that when a paragraph appears in the list of predictions, it will be straightened into one line, each line separated by a special symbol ( ).

What is the longest word or phrase I can add to the Personal Dictionary?

The maximal supported length of the word or phrase you can add is 150 characters, including spaces.

How many languages does WordLogic support?

Presently, only the English language dictionary is supplied with the Tablet version of WordLogic. We are working diligently on other languages and plan to release them in the nearest future. We also develop custom professional dictionaries (e.g. medical, legal, etc.)
